Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children ages four to 14. Keeping children safe on the road means putting them in the right restraint at the right age.

KSP is announcing a permanent child safety seat inspection station. Troopers at all 16 Posts have been trained as certified child safety seat technicians.

Our permanent inspection stations are available to make sure parents and childcare providers know and follow every one of the 4 Steps for Kids guidelines.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” gap=”20″ content_placement=”middle” parallax=”content-moving” parallax_image=”15055″ css=”.vc_custom_1566588253745{background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.67) !important;*background-color: rgb(0,0,0) !important;}” el_class=”dark-mode”][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1566587864042{padding-top: 45px !important;padding-bottom: 80px !important;}” el_class=”dark-mode” offset=”vc_col-xs-6″][vc_custom_heading text=”The 4 Steps for Kids are:” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” google_fonts=”font_family:Oswald%3A300%2Cregular%2C700|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recommends that children who have outgrown child safety seats be properly restrained in booster seats in the back seat until they are at least eight years old, unless they are 4’9″ tall. A booster seat lifts a child up so that a safety belt can fit correctly. Without a booster seat, a small child can be ejected from a vehicle during a crash.

Kentucky State Police will have technicians available at each KSP Post to inspect child passenger safety seats and their installation.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” content_placement=”middle” parallax=”content-moving” universal_ellements_style=”Without Paddings” css=”.vc_custom_1566587563310{background: #444444 url(http://kspiscweb5/KSP/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/APP-Pic2.jpg?id=1775);}” el_class=”dark-mode”][vc_column width=”1/6″ offset=”vc_col-lg-offset-0″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_row_inner content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1566587383180{margin-top: -30px !important;}”][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″ offset=”vc_col-xs-6″][vc_column_text]
